About our organization
Who we are
Volunteer Africa 32 Degrees South is a South African based volunteer organisation. Since 2005 we have placed over 1000 international volunteers into programs in education, conservation and social development in the greater Wild Coast region.
Since the inception of our pioneering Wild Coast Schools Program in 2004, VA32 has not only grown the number of programs in the area which we are able to offer, but has developed the structure and support of each program to ensure that volunteers get the best experience possible while volunteering in Chintsa.

It immersed me in a culture so different from mine, and opened my eyes to the ample opportunities I have to make a difference. My time here in South Africa has been an amazing journey – one that I'll be telling to my children and their children. Volunteer Africa 32 welcomed me as their own and ignited my passion for travelling and service to a world that has given me so much.
It's not easy work because there are almost 14 kids everyday, but all the hard work is rewarded by their smiles and the excited "bye-bye" that I get everyday.
Everyday is a new beginning and the kids are willing to learn and get to know you better, it's just awesome to see the look on their faces as they discover something new on the computer. We kind of realise that no matter the background, where they come from, what they have and what they don't, kids are just kids!
The project was very well organized, it exceeded my expectations. I really loved the afternoon activities - helping at the Children's Home of Safety in particular. Drama club was also really cool - I think doing drama is really important and helps to children to develop as young, confident people.
There are so many highlights to this program. I think the biggest is that through this experience I've got a new view of another world. It's really good for me.
The project was as organised as it could have been. Structurally very good with clear objectives for volunteers. I found it the most organised thing. But at the same time we had the freedom to use our own ideas and initiatives and that is a hard thing to achieve in a structured project.
100% definitely recommended to anyone. Volunteering in my chosen location was an experience of a lifetime, the challenges and experiences will stay with me for a lifetime and I'm so glad I decided to jump on board and put myself into uncharted waters to come out the other side a changed individual.
